I was honoured when I was approached by SeaGods Paddle Boards to create a commissioned art piece that would be featured on their new alpine hiking paddle board. What an incredible stroke of magic the universe paired my favourite pastime - paddle boarding and my other love, painting rocks.

The design I came up with depicted such a journey one might embark on using the board, showing the amazing vast vistas of the wilderness in BC. One could also interpret the flow to represent the passage of time, personal growth or spiritual ascension, or the incredible feat of perseverance. Choosing to stick with the medium I’m most attuned to, It was painted on a piece of slate similar to the shape of a paddle board.

Seeing it all come together with the launch of the series, is a truly amazing feeling, one i'm likely to treasure all my years.

The board was named Cirque, from an alpine lake in Idaho, I’ve named the art piece Walkabout.
